Passgage Co-Founder and CTO Gökhan Almaş answered the questions of our Marketing Executive Mert Tüfekçioğlu in our Microsoft Teams interview. Passgage, who had previously positioned his resources in a different cloud service provider, underlined his sensitivity in using his resources correctly and training: “Positioning and using the resources we had correctly was equally important and a necessity. In this case, we have a lack of expertise and training needs,” he said. “Scalability and cost started to become a big problem for us. We took these as our two main focus points. However, we were experiencing difficulties in using our existing cloud infrastructure more efficiently and optimizing our operating expenses. In this context, the idea of switching to Azure made perfect sense in terms of our business model and growth strategy. We have eliminated all these problems," he said, adding that the problems they experienced disappeared with the start of their Microsoft Azure adventure.

Modernization is accelerated with Founders Hub.

Thanks to the Founders Hub program established by Microsoft, start-up companies can enter a 4-stage investment process, thus, they can realize their ideas and benefit from free Microsoft Azure credits and cloud services. With the guidance of our technical teams and Microsoft Turkey, Passgage was introduced to Founders Hub and took its digitalization processes to the next level.

“Founders Hub has started to provide the most advantage. We felt these advantages in all of them, whether in our existing infrastructure or in the management of other companies. After learning the details of this program with the help of your technical team, we decided that we should be here immediately,” said Gökhan Almaş and, “Combined with the loans and advantages it provides, as well as your technical support, we decided to move our environments directly here,” said to state that they reached a scalable situation and achieved their aim.

Technical support and adaptation is fostered.

The biggest factor in Passgage modernizing its applications was undoubtedly the Founders Hub program offered by Microsoft Azure. In this way, as a start-up, they re-optimized their initial costs, rebuilt the cloud infrastructures required for their applications, and established a scalable, reliable, and manageable system.

In addition, they also had the chance to easily control and manage all their processes with Microsoft Azure modules in MyAdmin. “MyAdmin actually played a vital role in this transition and adaptation process. “We are moving to a new platform and thanks to this service, we were able to follow the entire project step by step through MyAdmin and better plan our workload and resources,” says Gökhan Almaş.

MyAdmin also offered full technical support and training thanks to its Adaptation Center. Throughout the process, project owners had the chance to follow the steps via MyAdmin, attend workshops, receive service-related training and learn how to adapt the latest technologies on a large scale. Deciding which services to use, service deployments, data migrations, and leveraging native Azure services got the project ready to run on Azure for an extended period of time. “We held workshops through the Adaptation Center, learned the details of the Founders Hub and received training. In short, I can say that it accelerated our transition process a lot.” Almaş once again emphasized the importance of MyAdmin for their company.
